Just had a random memory pop into my head, mostly an advert for a magazine series which had the jingle of 'who, what, when, where, why' which if I remember correctly was a collectible science series. And it's made me wonder if any collected any of those sorts of fortnightly series, whether educational or those where you can collect dvds and construct various models.
I remember collecting Discovery, and it was the only one in which I ever ended up with the entire collection of 62 parts if I remember correctly. I've still got them back in my old room at my parents. It was a pretty good series with bits from all different parts of history, from Guy Fawkes, Elizabeth I, Henry VIII, even covering the Egyptians. Each part had mini models to construct, but I never did them as requested by my parents, which is probably a good thing ;D
I also did one called just simply Dinosaur, which I got all the time up until about half way through in which it became harder to get until eventually it was just given up on. With that one I constructed a glow in the dark T-Rex skeleton, which now about 20 years later is still together and glowing. There was also an outer layer which kinda didn't stay together at all. There was a card collection during the later issues but it was never completed.

I had the Greatest Cities which ended after 6 issues due to poor sales. Also Quest on its second run, but that also ended after 6 or 7 issues due to poor sales. Also got Dinosaurs, and I remember getting some card packets that had two of the same card. I stopped buying this during its later issues.
Ones I've completed were The Star Trek Fact Files and The Star Wars Fact Files (even a couple of issues I've still kept in its wrapping.
with Christmas and the New Year approaching, I bet there will be adverts for new collection magazine in the near future.

There might have been a couple more part works I may have also invested in at some point in the past, but I just can't for the life of me remember which ones they were
