It's a question that crops up a lot when it comes to Danger Mouse, and that's just what is his sidekick Penfold supposed to be. General consensus is that Penfold is a mole, due to his need to wear glasses as he can barely see anything at all, matching up with a mole. I typed in Penfold on Wiki (before viewing this thread).
I learnt that Penfold is also a type of pillar post box designed by John Penfold.
A bit ironic, considering Dangermouse and Penfold live in a pillar box.
Also, is it just me, but Penfold reminds me of Harry Hill...

With me it's more like Harry Hill reminds me of Penfold.  That is ironic about what a penfold actually is though, probably done deliberately. |
